Pamela Ginther Perry

Certified Canine Massage Practitioner
Certified Usui / Holy Fire II Karuna® Reiki Master
Canine Conditioning Fitness Coach

Pam first became aware of Reiki when someone suggested it’s use for her horse. When she saw the benefits, she learned to do it herself, working her way up to Reiki Master level. As she got more involved with dogs, she thought that canine massage would complement the Reiki well and was more common and understood so she attended multiple workshops at Integrated Touch Therapy to learn the benefits of massage and the variety of techniques that can be used to help relieve discomfort and help dogs feel their best. Through classes and training with her own dog she felt drawn toward learning fitness exercises to promote good body awareness and confidence. She received her Canine Conditioning Fitness Coach certificate in September, 2022. Most Sundays she teaches a Fun with Fitness class at All About Dogs. She is also available by appointment for individual sessions for Reiki, massage and general fitness.

Canine Massage

The origins of using massage on animals dates back to ancient times. Massage is a form of alternative therapy that uses touch to release tension, reduce pain, improve flexibility, flush toxins and move fresh blood and nutrients into the muscles. Massage can be offered for rehabilitation, competition and relaxation. It can maintain or improve both physical and emotional well-being.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique used for stress reduction and relaxation that can also promote healing. It is based on the idea there is a ‘universal energy’ that runs through us. When the energy is low or blocked it may cause us to feel stressed or ill. Reiki is an ideal complementary therapy for pets because it is gentle, painless, non-invasive and stress-free. Reiki can go to the source of the problem, be it mental or physical, even when the source is unknown to us. Reiki is a great choice for animals because they do not need to be restrained or confined. A treatment can be given either hands-on or from a distance giving the animal the opportunity to be an active participant in the healing process. The ability to receive Reiki from a distance is ideal for those dogs who are shy or nervous and need help building a trusting relationship with people.
