Description: Puppy Playtime Preschool is socialization time specifically for puppies. There will be many props and interesting activities for your puppy to explore.  Off-leash interactions will depend on the comfort level of the individual puppies participating. The session will be directed by a trainer but owners are responsible for monitoring their own dogs.

Puppy Kindergarten

Description: This course is designed to get dog owners and their puppies started off on the right paw. With focus on Socialization, Training, Activity and Responsibility your puppy will build self-confidence and begin to establish good manners. Skills introduced in this class, are sit, down, drop it, loose leash walking, come and go to mat. Off-leash play time is included in this class.  At the completion of this course you’ll be eligible to test and enroll for the **AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy award and receive the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy package.

This course is designed for dogs of any age with no prior formal training and is the adult equivalent of our Puppy Kindergarten course. It’s the first step to help you and your dog build a bond of trust and companionship while getting started on everyday manners. Description:

This class is designed to allow you and your dog to continue to build on every day skills with increased distractions. We focus on more advanced techniques preparing your dog to be well mannered both at home and in the community. At the end of the six weeks your dog will be eligible to test for and register with the AKC for the Canine Good Citizen certificate**.
All About Dogs offers their facility as a testing site for TDI. Scheduling of TDI tests is determined by the TDI  evaluator. *** The TDI Organization has reinstated testing and therapy visits with restrictions. We do not have any tests on the schedule at this time.  Please go to the TDI website for more information.***

Description: This class allows the instructor to work with dog/handler teams on proofing and performing behaviors learned in the classroom.  We will meet at local parks walking the trails and taking advantage of the natural distractions. One dog per handler. Before registering please be sure to investigate the park and trails to be sure it matches the ability of you and your dog. 
Prerequisite: Good foundation of basic skills such as sit, stay and leave it.

Reactive Rover

Description: Does your dog have a ton of energy? Is your dog shy, have physical limitations or just getting older? Adding mental & physical stimulation into your dog’s life can increase confidence and reduce boredom. It’s also a really great way to have fun with your dog! Participation can be with or without your dog depending on your dog’s comfort level in a group class environment.  This session is held on leash, owners are responsible for monitoring their own dogs. A trainer will be present to monitor and answer any questions.

Description: Rally is a fun obedience based activity. The person and dog team navigates through a numbered course of 10 to 20 signs. The goal of most dog owners is to have a well mannered dog both at home and out in the community.

Learn More About CGC & CGCA Testing

The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Test is a nationally recognized test that helps owners and their dogs master the skills needed to meet that goal.  The test is open to dogs of all breeds and mixes.

The 10 step test consists of the following exercises.

  1. Accepting a friendly stranger
  2. Sitting politely for petting
  3. Appearance and grooming
  4. Walking on a loose leash
  5. Walking through a crowd
  6. Sit and down on command and staying in place
  7. Coming when called
  8. Reaction to another dog
  9. Reacting (or not reacting) to a distraction
  10. Supervised separation.


AKC Community Canine is the advanced level of the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen Program. The AKC Community Canine test is done ir real situations including shows, classes and in the community.

To participate in the test the dog must be registered with AKC and have completed and pasted the CGC test.
To earn the title the dog must complete the follow 10 items.

  1. Dog stands, sits or lies down and waits under control.
  2. Walks on a loose leash in a natural situation (not a ring) – does not pull.
  3. Walks on loose leash through a crowd.
  4. Walks past distraction dogs, does not pull.
  5. Sit – stay in small group.
  6. 6. Dog allows person carrying something (backpack, computer bag, etc) to approach and pet it.
  7. ‘Leave It’. Dog walks past food and follows owner instructions to leave it.
  8. Down or sit stay at distance.
  9. Recall with distractions
  10. Dog will sit or stand stay while owner enters/exits a doorway or narrow passage. Owner calls dog through door when ready.

Therapy Dogs International (TDI) is a volunteer organization that tests and registers dogs and their handlers for the purpose of visiting hospitals, nursing homes, schools and other institutions where therapy dogs are needed.

All dogs registered through TDI must be at least 1 year of age and tested for temperament and suitability by a Certified TDI Evaluator.

A waiver stating that you are solely responsible for the actions of yourself and your dog(s) prior, during, and after the test while on the premises where the evaluation is being held must be signed prior to performing the test.
