The leaves are beginning to slowly change in Northeast Ohio, a subtle reminder that the warm sunny days of summer are nearing their end. The cooler weather and the vibrant colors of fall offer plenty of reasons to get outside and enjoy our beautiful Geauga Park District and hike with your hound.
Here are 5 tips to help you keep your dog clean after a fun afternoon at the park.
Tip #1 Pre-moistened baby wipes. Look for non scented, alcohol free wipes. These are easy to keep in your car and great for a quick clean up before the ride home.
Tip #2 Keep your dogs toe hair under control. If you have a breed with long hair between their toes, ask the groomer to trim the hair* during your monthly nail trim. We offer walk-in nail trims and grinds Monday – Saturday. *Please schedule paw trims ahead of time.
Tip # 3 Don’t forget your towel! It is a good idea to keep a towel in your vehicle at all times. This will alleviate the frustration of muddy paws on your car seats. Towels are also great if you get caught in any unexpected rain and you or your pup needs to dry off quickly.
Tip #4 If your dog is extra “fragrant” after a walk, try a dryer sheet or a dry shampoo for a quick fix. Dryer sheets also eliminate any unwanted static.
Tip #5 Self service dog wash! Our self service dog wash gives you the opportunity to bathe your dog in a secure tub. We provide you with everything you need and we clean up the mess for you. Our dog wash is open 7 days a week, and is available on a first come first serve basis. Click on our Muddy Paws to receive a coupon for our self serve dog wash.
No matter which option you choose, have fun, and enjoy the crisp autumn air because winter is right around the corner!
