Featured Employee – Allie
Allie joined our team in October of 2016. She had prior experience working at other doggy daycare facilities in the area before joining our team. Allie is very passionate about dogs. She has been a valuable member of our team!
What is your favorite part of your job? Getting to see all of my four-legged friends, of course! Especially when there is a positive breakthrough with a challenging dog. I’m also happy to say that my co-workers are some of the biggest-hearted people you’ll ever meet.
What is your best memory or day on the job? One time I was having a bad day for unrelated reasons, in small dogs. Mojo jumped up and licked a single tear off my face. I’ll never forget it! The rest is history.
Where did you grow up? Right here in Auburn Township.
What is your birthday? August 15th.
What are your hobbies? Hula hoop dance, yoga, hiking, poetry, and kayaking – to name a few!
What is something unique about you? I’m really good at rhyming and love to make up silly songs. Yes, that means I sing them to the dogs too!
If you didn’t work here what would you be doing? Most likely, still working with animals, maybe something creative or another type of care taking.
Tell us why you are passionate about dogs and any involvement outside of All About Dogs that you have with dogs or animals. I love dogs because dogs love me! They’re always happy to see you no matter how cranky or tired you are, or if your hair is crazy or whatever. There is no judgment.
What is your favorite dog breed and why? Standard Poodles! They’re so funny and I love styling all that hair! They’re also the breed that I learned to groom on, so I might be a bit biased.
Amanda H.Dog Trainer & Professional Groomer
Amanda joined our team in November 2015 assisting in the dog grooming department through the holiday season. She is a registered AKC instructor and CGC and Puppy STAR evaluator and teaches group dog training classes here at our facility. Her favorite part of the job is “teaching the handler the tools they need to show their dog how to be a well mannered part of their family – a trained dog is a happy & confident dog.” She enjoys doing outside activities with her family like raising hogs and chickens, tending a vegetable garden, camping and hiking. She also volunteers with her Therapy Dog at a local home for the disabled.
